Our Mother’s Day celebration has been extra special. Thanks to the wonderful stories of Shapermint’s very own wonder wo-moms! To wrap up our #shapingrealMOMents series here’s a round-up of our interviews from series one through 4. Read on!

Interview # 1 Mariela Collazo, Graphic Designer at Shapermint

Mariela Interview

How would you describe being a mom in one phrase?

It’s difficult. For me, being a mom is a real challenge, every day.

What are your favorite MOMents as a mom?

I love the weekends because I can spend time with him all day. We usually go to the park or visit my mom, so there’s a lot of quality time to spend together.

The most important thing my son taught me is that we are part of each other. We stay together, we stay connected everyday and every moment. It’s a beautiful connection to experience. - Mariela Collazo

Interview # 2 Maria Murga, Sr. Brand Manager at Truekind

Maria interview

How would you describe being a mom in one phrase?

So, I would describe being a mom as a constant challenge. It’s a constant readaptation of my life and my beliefs, but at the same time it’s one of the most rewarding things in the world.

What surprises you about motherhood?

Everything surprises me about motherhood. There are always so many questions about simple things that I never did before.

So, I would say that it’s a big change, and it’s a process of being constantly flexible to my son’s needs.

For me, waking up and seeing the smile of my kiddo, it’s love, it’s like magic for me. I start my day with a really good mood. - Maria Murga

Interview # 3 Tanya Ungureanu, Email Marketing Manager at Shapermint

Tanya interview

How would you describe being a mom in one phrase?

I think that being a mom is one of the hardest, yet most rewarding things you can do in life.

What has your son taught you?

My son taught me to be accepting and to not judge others. Children don’t see the fault, or the flaws in the other person. He’s super forgiving, so I think that’s one of the things that he really taught me.

You know when you had this hard day, and he sees you and he just smiles and shows his love, it melts everything around you... it’s like nothing else matters in those moments. - Tanya Ungureanu

My name is Tanya, and I am #shapingrealMOMents.

Interview # 4 East Brutas, Junior Copywriter at Shapermint

East interview

How would you describe being a mom in one phrase?

Being a mom is stressful and frustrating but very fulfilling.

What is the best thing you taught your child/children?

The best thing I taught my son is to express his true emotions. He’s 7-years old and he can be a bit sensitive at times, so I told him, “it’s okay to cry if you feel sad and there are a lot of ways to express your emotions - just make sure not to suppress it.”

I taught him how to express his emotions because I don’t want him to grow up thinking that boys don’t cry. I want him to be as human, as raw, and as real as possible. - East

I’m East, and I am #shapingrealMOMents.
