You’re one of our Brand Ambassadors, part of the Shapermint Crew! What inspired you to join the Crew?
The positive content I was seeing on the Shapermint platforms. It felt empowering to see shapewear marketed in a way that celebrated bodies instead of shaming them and I wanted to be a part of that.
What do you enjoy most about being on the Crew?
Getting to try Shapermint products and share my honest reviews, so people with similar body shapes can shop confidently too.
How do you want to shape change with us?
I want to show people that bodies are worthy in every shape and size and that everyone deserves to feel supported.
How do you define body positivity?
Looking in the mirror and seeing worth instead of imperfections.
Celebrating the body I have now, and how much it’s given me over the last 36 years.
Self-love is especially important. Do you have any particular rituals or routines that spark self-love?
I start my day by taking my meds and listening to some positive affirmations. I’ll never turn down a hot bath with a good book either.
We absolutely love the fact that you use social media as a liberating force to celebrate body positivity and other movers & shapers out there. Are there any women on social media who inspire you to be your best self?
I love following people that I can relate to, be it body size, or lifestyle. Maddy Gutierrez is one of my faves. She balances motherhood and plus-size fashion content to perfection.
How important has stocking up on basics been to you during the quarantine?
Quarantine for me has been all about comfort and support when it comes to clothing. Having lots of options that can quickly take me from home to running errands and school pick-ups has been amazing.
What are your top tips for breaking out of a fashion/style rut?
Follow creators that have styles you love, get inspired. Make Pinterest boards and try something new! Order something you wouldn’t normally pick for yourself and see how it makes you feel. I’m currently in the process of discovering my style post motherhood and it feels good!
What is your favorite Shapermint style? How do you like to style it?
I am obsessed with the TrueKind bras! I decided to go wire-free this year and struggled to find a bra that actually supported me without wire. Until I found the TrueKind bra. I have every color and wear them every day! They are perfect under tees and keep me comfortable all day.
